Biopsy should be taken from polyps detected in the large intestine by colonoscopy. Because about 95% of cancers that develop in the large intestine develop from polyps.
Preparation
A special diet the day before the application: so that the colon is empty
Mushil or enema may be recommended
Medication use is regulated. Blood thinners are stopped one week before (such as aspirin.)
Implementation
A long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the rectum. A small video camera at the end of the tube allows you to see inside the colon.
It takes between 20 minutes and 1 hour depending on the situation.
