Preparation

Implementation

A sedative or anesthetic is administered intravenously. A long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the rectum.

A small video camera at the end of the tube allows you to see inside the colon. Depending on the situation, it takes between 15 minutes and 1 hour.
